Practise your radio calls until they come out right.

SkyRT Academy prepares you for both parts of the DGCA RTR(A): a Part 1 question bank that explains every answer, and a Part 2 simulator that listens to your transmissions and tells you exactly which item you missed.

No card needed. Free chapters, free scenarios and the formats library are open to every account.

Try it: read back this taxi clearance

You are VT-SKA (abbreviated VKA). Fictional aerodrome, real phraseology.

ATCVindhya Ground
VKA, taxi to holding point Alfa 1 runway 27 via Alfa, QNH 1008

Two tests, one place to prepare

Part 1: the written test

Multiple-choice practice organised by topic, from phraseology and call signs to distress procedures and radio principles.

  • Explanations for the right answer and why each wrong option is wrong
  • Topic, weak-area, revision and spaced-repetition modes
  • Timed mock exams that survive a refresh or a dropped connection
How Part 1 practice works

Part 2: the practical test

Scenario-based radio practice from start-up to landing, including MAYDAY and PAN PAN calls.

  • ATC speaks; you answer with your voice or by typing
  • Every read-back item is checked, with safety-critical errors called out
  • ATC corrects you on the frequency, just as a controller would
How the simulator scores you

What happens on each simulator turn

  1. 1

    ATC transmits

You hear the clearance (or read it), with numbers spoken the ICAO way — tree, fower, fife, niner.

  2. 2

    You respond

Hold push-to-talk and speak, or type. Choose the right frequency on the radio panel first.

  3. 3

    It is checked

Required items, values, call-sign position and order are checked. Equivalent wording is accepted.

  4. 4

    You see why

A checklist of what was right and missing, the rule behind it, and a correction from ATC if needed.

Your dashboard answers three questions

Every number is calculated from your own attempts, and you can open the attempts behind it.

What have I mastered?
Topic accuracy and simulator scores by phase of flight.
What am I getting wrong?
Recent mistakes, repeated errors and the read-back items you keep dropping.
What should I practise next?
A study plan built from your exam date and weak areas, with the reason for each task.

What we will and won't claim

  • Original material. Questions and scenarios are written for SkyRT Academy. None are presented as DGCA papers or recalled questions.
  • Labelled exam formats. Where we mirror the test format, we say where the parameters come from and that they are not verified by the DGCA.
  • Practice scores, not predictions. Readiness indicators describe your performance on our material. They do not predict an exam result.
  • Your voice stays yours. We never store your recordings. See exactly how speech recognition works in the privacy policy.

SkyRT Academy is an independent training platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the DGCA, the Department of Telecommunications or ICAO.
